NCSS Membership
National Council for the Social Studies is an association of more than 26,000 educators who have come together to strengthen the social studies profession and social studies programs in the schools.

As a member, NCSS offers you opportunities to meet and exchange ideas with colleagues through state and local councils, Special Interest Groups, and job-alike groups. We also invite you to participate in the council's important work. Serving on an NCSS committee, you can test and expand your leadership skills and increase your professional contacts.
All members receive receive The Social Studies Professional, our fact-filled newsletter, 6 times a year. It's packed with timely information on professional development opportunities, new teaching resources, upcoming meetings, student contests, upcoming television and media programming, and much, much more.
All members have access to the members-only archives, where articles are available (mostly in PDF form) from past issues of Social Education, Middle Level Learning, Social Studies and the Young Learner, as well as the most recent Notable Trade Books list.

Also includes NCSS Bulletins, published twice-yearly in book form. NCSS Bulletins provide an in-depth focus on specific disciplines within social studies. Bulletins and other special books are sent to members as a benefit of Comprehensive membership in NCSS
